Εpiskopi

At the 7th kilometer from Ierapetra and towards Pahia Ammos, in the road there is the present village of Episkopi, which together with Pano Chorio and Kato Horio constitute the community of Kato Chorio.
The name of the village was given by the undeniable fact that the old village was the seat of the bishopric of Ierapetra and Sitia, but for a while, and the first seat of the Latino bishop.

A little further beyond Paxi Ammos is the picturesque settlement of Episkopi with a remarkable tavern.
